We believe that everyone should have access to fresh food.

The produce is fresh and of good quality. We know where it comes from and that it is fresh.

-Rosslyn White

I have actually seen vegetables and fruits at the Fresh Stop that I hadn’t seen before, so learned about new types of produce.

– Johnny Miles

It is convenient, as we don’t have anything else with that kind of variety and freshness in our neighborhood.

– Eula White

It saves money. I find the prices are better at the Fresh Stop.

– Mark Brown

Our Fresh Stop Market is located in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. In the Lower Ninth Ward 98% of residents are African American and predominantly low-income with 10% of households receiving public assistance income. Access to healthcare and healthy, affordable food are compromised.

Our fresh market programs help lessen the gap by providing fresh produce from local farmers and producers. We are working to strengthen our community-based food system by linking good food grown by local farmers with consumers. Our network of neighborhood-based fresh markets build a healthy and economically vital environment for children, families, seniors, and generations to come.

All of our markets accept federal food assistance benefits such as SNAP/EBT (formerly known as “Food Stamps”), Senior FMNP vouchers (Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program) and RX Farmers Market Prescription program.
